Tula Pink!!

A few of us went to a Tula Pink trunk show recently. If you have been living under a rock and don't know who Tula Pink is, let me tell you. She is an amazing fabric designer who uses colour in a whole new way. I have loved her fabrics for a long time and now I was able to learn a little bit about her and her quilting history.

Here are a few quilts that were made with Tula Pink fabric:

And here are a few slides from Tula's presentation - she was explaining her design concept but don't ask me to repeat it! She is an artiste! I draw stick people so I have not idea how she does such amazing drawings!

And finally, here are some of Tula's quilts!!

This one is my favourite!!
Amazing, right?

Spring time!

Everyone has been busy working on assorted projects. Winter seemed SO long, really long and cold and snowy! I guess that’s what defines winter, isn’t it? Why is it that when you look back, time seems to go by so fast but when you are looking forward to something, it takes forever to get there?

When I look back at winter, it seems like it zoomed by but while in the midst of it, it was winter forever. And you would think that with such a long winter, we would have all finished a ton of projects .... I know I didn’t! I did start a few though!

So here are some of the projects our group is working on - enjoy!

This is a photo of two quilts Carmen made using Oakshott fabrics - aren't they pretty!

Cheryl getting ready to blow out the candles ....

And no boyfriends to report. :(

Faye wearing her microwave bowl holder as a hat - could come in handy!

Faye's Little House on the Prairie quilt - so nice. I'm sure it's for someone special (quilted by Carmen)

Sharing the Birthday cake - I really think there should be TWO birthday cakes!

A friend of Carmen's stopped in to pick up his quilt which was quilted (all fancy) by Carmen.

Beautiful job Carmen! Love those Tula Pink fabrics.

These are blocks for the Scrappy Star quilt - it was a workshop in our larger guild. All three of us (me, Carole and Jane) got the same directions and all three of us have different looking blocks!

Carole's completed quilt - lovely!

One of Carmen's projects .... I think?

The retreat bag - a project from our guild. The pattern is available on the web - FREE! Just click HERE. I am so sorry, but I can't remember who made these lovely bags so let's just keep moving on!

Carmen's completed quilt top, I think that she pieced the circles by hand!

Karen's turn for Birthday cake!

No candles to be found but Carole volunteered her lighter!

Carmen, who used to say she couldn't make bags, make this amazing bag from a class on Craftsy.

Cording, zippers, padded shoulder strap, mesh pockets - wow!

Judy working on another retreat bag - they really are fantastic bags.

Faye modelling her new purses - very nice!

Sue thinking and cutting.

Carmen making a jelly roll rug. You stitch the jelly roll strips together, cut batting to 2 1/4 ", match the batting to the strip, fold outer edges to the middle, fold in half and stitch down the centre.

Then you use a zigzag stitch to form the rug. I bet she already has it finished!

Carole cutting a new project.

Cheryl working on another charity quilt; I've lost track of how many she's made. Great job Cheryl!

A beautiful finished quilt of Sue's; I love the colours!

And here's the back!

That's all for now!  Be good, sew straight!
