Happy Birthday Cheryl!

We had a smaller than usual group when we met this past week but we keep busy and watched some of the 2014 Olympics from Sochi at the same time. It was really fun!

Jane was working on a new project; it is the Day and Night quilt pattern from Eleanor Burns. Jane was enjoying the pattern and made a lot of progress through out the day. Very pretty!

Planning the layout

Starting to add the borders.

Judy had purchased some very colourful fabric in Kelowna last summer (on sale at Fabricland!) and she was working on making two beautiful aprons!

Very bright!

And she stitched the seams with a decorative floral stitch.

Cheryl worked on a wall hanging and found it very convenient to stand behind it!

BJ had a few words to say about her cuddle strip quilt - but I won't print them here. It was turning out very nice but the fluff-factor was high by the end of the day!

Faye #2 was making great progress on her "Gold's Got the Blues" quilt but unfortunately, I didn't get a photo - next time!

I completed a few more microwave bowl pot-holders in some funky fabrics, made 2 mug wraps and worked on a St. Patrick's Day 12 x 12 hanging that I will show next time.

At lunch we celebrated Cheryl's birthday with a heavenly chocolate and white cake with butter cream filling. It looks like a Tuxedo cake but it I think it was called a Tiger cake (I could be very wrong about this!).

We all enjoyed the cake and companionship of the day and, of course, watching the Olympics! We missed seeing Ruth, Carmen, Louise, Faye, Carole and Myrtle but we'll catch up with them soon.

Keep stitchin'!

Bev
